    Below follows information that is important in the preparation of your visit and also useful during your stay in Stockholm, Sweden. As questions arise we will complement this page continually.


    Entry Visa and travel subsidies

    Visa requirements
    Delegates from some countries need an Entry Visa to be able visit Sweden for the congress. At the website of the Swedish Migratory Board, you will find all information on how to apply for an entry visa.

    Travel subsidies
    Please note that we can not provide late registrations, after May 18th, with the possibility of travel subsidies.
    We are working very hard on two sources of support, the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Government, to enable you to participate in the congress. We will receive notification about our applications for subsidies in mid June. The subsidies we apply for is to cover your travel expenses, meaning flight ticket and accommodation, and the congress fee at a total maximum of 1700 USD. If our applications are approved we will contact you with further instructions as soon as possible.

    By air
    Stockholm International Airport, Arlanda, is situated 44 kilometers north of Stockholm. The airport transfer bus runs every 5-10 minutes from the arrival hall and takes you to the Central Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs approx. 80 SEK. Arlanda Express, the new high-speed airport train, departs every 15 minutes from Arlanda to Stockholm Central station. The cost of a single ticket is approx. 180 SEK for a 20 minute ride.     Stockholm Bromma Airport is a smaller airport with mostly domestic flights, but it also has international connections, with for instance Brussels. Bromma airport is situated only 10 km from the city center. Airport transfer buses run approx. every 30 minutes and the price is about 60 SEK. Bromma Airport.

    Stockholm Skavsta Airport is a small airport specialising in low-price airlines such as Ryanair. It is located 100 km south of Stockholm. There are airport buses to and from Stockholm Central Station. The trip will take 90 minutes and the cost of a single ticket is approx. 130 SEK. Skavsta Airport.

    Tourist Information

    Stockholm is a popular city for tourism, especially during the summer. The city has much to offer with plenty of museums, restaurants of different kinds and is suitable for just strolling along the shorelines.

    Getting around
    Public transportation: Stockholm has a well developed system for public transportation, including buses, subway, commuter trains and trams. Trip planning and timetables. A one-hour ticket costs 20 SEK.

    Taxi: Taxis are easy to find. Prices may vary due to deregulation, but it rarely costs more than 200 SEK to reach destinations within the city limits.

    Electricity:
    The power outlets are 220V/50Hz everywhere and 110V in bath rooms.
